Tom Hancock grew up in Northumberland and understands all too well the challenges facing local communities that are neglected by politicians in Westminster.
Tom has first hand experience of the housing issues facing so many people here. His work for a housing association that provides affordable homes for those who need it most has strengthened Tom's passion.
Tom told us: “Local communities feel completely ignored by politicians in London and at County Hall. I have been turning up in every town, village and hamlet because I want to hear what people are saying.”
“There’s so much wrong with politics in our country. From the conduct of MPs in Parliament to their failure to invest in our region, I want to be part of a new generation who will do things differently and renew the greatness of all parts of the United Kingdom, not just London and the South East.”
