Northumberland Farms under threat
Planting crops and breeding livestock are crucial to making sure the country has a secure supply of food. Yet farmers in Northumberland are unable to make crucial decisions because of the uncertainty created by Brexit.
NFU President Minette Batters recently said: “I think farmers were lied to and they feel, some of them, very differently now because this uncertainty is the worst thing for our industry. We’re had three years of uncertainty and of course for every British citizen they are frustrated that the day job is jut being put on hold.”
Tom told us: “Conservative chaos has made it impossible for farmers to succeed at a vital time of year. We urgently need to change course or the damage will be irreversible.”
